An Easy Option for Creating Your First Network Marketing Web Site

January 15, 2009

picture of workers building a dot com siteIf you’re building your network marketing business online, you want to have your own web site. Company supplied replicated sites are okay for some things, but to stand out, you must have your own personal site.

Your personal network marketing web site should focus on you, as well as provide information about your opportunity. You want your site to tell prospects who you are, what makes you special, and to give them reason to consider you as a potential business partner.

Many network marketers online choose not to build their own web site, or to just go with a replicated site. Part of the reason is because it seems so hard to get started.

These are the typical steps to creating and publishing your own personal network marketing web site:

  • choose a domain name
  • purchase a template (the template is the graphics and layout)
  • add text and other content using a web site development program such as Dreamweaver or XSitePro
  • publish and maintain the site as needed

While this isn’t all that difficult, there is a significant learning curve for the software you need, and you have to learn some basic skills necessary to publish and maintain your site. It can take away from your main focus, which should be finding and working with prospects.

Another option for your first site is to use an online site builder. The advantage to using one of these is simplicity. Everything is laid out for you, all you have to do is pick a design you like and insert the text and graphics you want. Everything is pushbutton easy.

There are some disadvantages to online site builders. Most of them require you to host with them, and you are pretty much locked in. The monthly cost will be higher than if you go the traditional route. There is a price for simplicity.

I used to be very skeptical of online site builders, until I met a full-time six-figure income network marketer who has designed and published several very productive sites with one of them.

Here is the bottom line – if you’re not already familiar with how to design and publish a web site, consider using one of these services to get started. Put your focus and effort into sponsoring and building your business, not learning how to design web sites with traditional software.

The six-figure income earner I met uses the following service. This is not an affiliate link. I am recommending it as an attractive option to anyone who wants to get started online with simplicity and ease.
