Make Video to Promote Your Network Marketing Business Online

It seems that more and more successful network marketers are using video to promote their business online. Some of these videos talk about an opportunity, others are “how-to” in nature. I created one back in September (based on a Powerpoint presentation I did) discussing how to use message boards and forums to promote your network marketing business.

Some videos are designed simply to communicate that the person behind the opportunity is a real human being, just like you. Anyway, the bottom line is that more and more Internet users are searching for information about home businesses, and having some video online (with you in it) helps develop trust and rapport.

While I’ve been fortunate to discover many effective ways to promote and build a network marketing business online, I resisted using video like this for a long time. I can sometime be a perfectionist, and I experimented with it a few times but didn’t like the results. Yet, I saw many top leaders in network marketing publishing videos that aren’t perfect, either. I started to realize that I, too, could do this.

Below is the result of the first video I’ve recorded that has me in it. To make this, I used very simple equipment.

For the camera, I used a Flip Video camcorder. This is a small device that fits easily into a pocket, and can be carried anywhere. It was designed primarily to shoot videos for YouTube. You can plug it right in to your computer and transfer video directly to YouTube with minimal fuss. It isn’t high tech, doesn’t have the finest resolution, but it gets the job done and anybody can use it. It is literally point and shoot.

I made this video on the fly. After Thanksgiving lunch today, I took this while on the way outside to play ball with our kids. No script, no special setup, no studio lighting. The color is a little faded because the lighting wasn’t great where I shot this, but it still gets the point across.
