The Website You Must Have for Real Success in Online Network Marketing

If you want to build your network marketing business online, you need a personal website. For the best success, having a website really isn’t optional. You need one. There are lots of good prospects out there looking for a home based business, and the competition for their attention is strong. You need to do everything you can to stand out from the crowd.
There are usually two ways to get a website. Many companies provide sites designed to sell the opportunity and products. The upside is that these are usually free, or available for low cost and you don’t have to do anything to maintain them.
The downside is that these sites look just like hundreds of others out there. They are not unique, and usually cannot be customized much, if any. I don’t recommend promoting a replicated site like this as your primary website online.
The other option is to build your own website. This can be a traditional website (okay) or a blog (highly recommended). Having your own personal website to promote your network marketing business has distinct advantages.
- you have the chance to build trust and credibility by telling prospects about yourself and why you chose your network marketing business
- you have a unique web presence that people can remember - your site doesn’t look like hundreds of others out there
- you can get free search engine listings and have your site promoted in places that don’t allow “affiliate-type” replicated websites.
The biggest thing, though, is that you can use your own personal website to sell YOU. People get involved in network marketing opportunities with people, not companies. By telling your prospects about yourself, your dreams, your business, and why your opportunity is unique, you are building a trust that is critical to your success in network marketing. With all the websites out there throwing get rich quick hype all over the place, you definitely have an advantage by presenting yourself as a real person and a professional.
A final note - one reason I recommend a blog over a traditional website is the fact that you can quickly and easily add new content to a blog. Putting something new in fairly often tells your visitors that you are very active and enthusiastic about your business. Blogs also allow visitors to comment on posts. Some good discussions can start this way, and this can help your business and increase your exposure online.
