Buying leads is an expensive and often unfruitful strategy to get network marketing leads. Unless you have an unlimited operating budget for your business, you probably should employ a different technique.
A much better idea is to actually network with people online through business forums and professional chat groups. Networking involves getting to know people without having an agenda. It is natural once you know someone to then discuss what each of your interests is. Then you may broach the subject of contacting them about your business.
Another good way to get network marketing leads is to create leads portals. You do this by offering information or other free gifts on a web page in exchange for their email address and/or telephone number. Then you might start with an email that invites them to tell you what they are doing and notify them of your availability if they would like to discuss this with you.
Many times networking marketing leads can be acquired directly from the business opportunity program that you are working with. They may have a function in place that distributes leads from inquiries they have had to help their members get prospective customers.
Surveys are also a good way to capture quality or premium leads. The surveys ask a number of questions of the person as to what their interests, problems and business goals are. These are good because when you have an introduction to the person and some information about them, you will know what topics to discuss. The survey might also ask if you may call them and when would be a good time to call.
Any of these methods takes a ‘cold’ call and turns it to ‘warm’, which is much more conducive to a productive outcome from the call. This is the big difference between a professional network marketing strategy and ‘telemarketing’, which is so offensive to so many.
A cold telemarketing call is from someone ‘out of the blue’ who knows nothing about you other than your phone number and maybe your name. They usually read from a script. It is completely impersonal and just invites a ‘No thank you’. This is the type of atmosphere that making calls to a list of leads you have purchased generates. See the difference?
