What Network Marketing Product Type Best Suits Your Personality?

November 18, 2008

woman contemplating a network marketing productNetwork marketing products are the cornerstone of any good opportunity. You want to find a business with products that best suit your personality and natural abilities. It’s very important to consider and evaluate them from an emotional as well as a practical standpoint.

They are the very foundation on which your business is built. Your inner feelings about the products will play a huge role in your chances for success.

Prior to signing up and starting your network marketing business, you need to evaluate the products carefully from a practical standpoint. Here is an article I wrote about this recently.

Who Else Wants to Buy Your MLM Products?

It’s also important to consider the emotional factor in selecting the products or services you’ll be using and promoting to others.

How do you feel deep inside about the products you’re considering? There should be a good market for them, and you need to feel interested and motivated enough to tell others about them. Don’t choose a product just because it’s popular or lots of people buy it.

Candles are great and can be big sellers, but if candles don’t “float your boat” so to speak, you probably won’t do well in that business. Nutritional supplements and weight loss formulas are always in hot demand, but can you see yourself enthusiastically talking to others about them?

A few years ago I signed up with a prominent in the nutritional field. The company behind the opportunity manufactured most of their own products, and they were second to none in their class. There was a lot of scientific research to back the effectiveness of the various supplements.

I didn’t do much with that opportunity. Why? Because I went in with the idea that the business would be great because good nutritional products were in high demand. I didn’t consider my personal feeling and enthusiasm for this type of product. While I did take nutritional supplements myself, I just wasn’t “into” the idea enough to enthusiastically promote them to others.

The bottom line is that your products and your personality much match. You need to feel good about them. I stress this because people often start businesses based around product lines solely because of their potential to sell. While this is important, don’t let it be the sole determining factor in your decision.
